Audio files and recordings are processed in your browser rather than uploaded, and microphone and screen capture require browser permission. The contact form validates input and includes safeguards against forged submissions and spam.

The layout is designed to work equally well on phone, tablet, laptop and desktop.

No manual updates required. Changes are deployed centrally.

Tool graphics use SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), and many tools generate sound directly in the browser.

Tabbing, alt text, ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels and high-contrast interfaces are treated as first-class requirements.

Customizable

Features are added with toggles. Settings preferences, module layout and supported tool-specific choices and data are saved locally in this browser using localStorage. What is saved depends on the tool. Not every active mode or transient readout is retained. Saved state is not synchronized between browsers or devices, and clearing site storage removes it.

The following is a description of the pages each tool has. They are Tool, Help, History and About. Pages can be swiped left and right in header. Tools are accessible from front page and TOC. On mobile, TOC closes during page navigation, including Back.

History pages

Updates and bug fixes are documented in the History pages, with version number and release date.

About pages

About pages show large icon, with current version number and release date.

Contact button

Opens the contact form for general messages, bug reports and feature requests. Enter your name, email address and message, then choose General, Bug report or Feature request from Category. Name, email address and message are required. Names can contain up to 100 characters and messages up to 10,000 characters. Press Send to submit your message. A confirmation appears when it has been sent. If submission fails, the form explains the problem and keeps your text so you can correct it or try again. Wait at least one minute between successful submissions. Press Reset to clear the form and restore the General category.

Share button

Shares the current page using your device's sharing options. If sharing is unavailable, copies the link to the clipboard or shows it for manual copying.

Updates button

Opens a list of recent Pekosoft updates. Use Previous and Next to browse the list, and select an update title to view the change on GitHub.

Modules

Each tool is organized into modules. Depending on the tool, these are Instrument, Controls, Timeline, Playlist, History, Panel and Meters. Modules with tabs include the selected tab in their header, such as Instrument: Notes or Meters: Spectroscope. Tab tooltips name their content directly, such as File metadata, Curve or Values. Modules can be toggled from Menu. Double click or double tap a module header to minimize or restore it when the two-module Layout is off.

Skip button

Selects the next tab in the same section, returning to the first after the last. This works like selecting the tab directly, including any saved selection. Other tab sections and playback are unchanged. In Meters, use Next meter for the same behavior.

Module options button

Opens module-specific options. Unavailable while the module is minimized.

Instrument module

This is the main module. It's designed to provide basic functionality on its own.

Controls module

Buttons, fields, menus, knobs and sliders are collected in the Controls module.

Timeline module

X axis shows time, and is scrollable. Y axis typically shows tempo or amplitude. There's a button for toggling guides.

Playlist module

Lists files, presets or patterns for selection and playback. The available items and list actions depend on the tool.

History module

Records edits in tools that support undo and redo. Select an entry to return to that state. This is separate from the History page, which lists versioned changes.

Panel module

Panel textareas are editable by default and show session data. Generated output may refresh as the tool updates. Whether edited text changes tool state depends on the tool. See its Help for details.

Meters module

Displays the current tool's audio signal. Choose Spectroscope, Level, Oscilloscope, Wavescope or Phasescope to inspect different aspects of the signal. Freeze, Crosshair, Guides, Bright, Rulers and Color adjust the view without changing the audio.

Meter freeze button

The Freeze button in Meters holds the signal without stopping audio or recording. Crosshair, Guides, Bright, Rulers and Color remain adjustable while frozen. Press again to resume live updates. Reset and page reload release Freeze. Default: off.

Next meter button

Selects the next Meters view in tab order: Spectroscope, Level, Oscilloscope, Wavescope and Phasescope, then back to Spectroscope. This works like selecting the corresponding tab and saves the selected view for the current tool. Freeze and audio playback are unchanged.

Meter crosshair button

Shows crosshair lines across the Meters plot. With a mouse, the lines follow the pointer and hide when it leaves. On phone, tap or drag the plot to position the lines. They stay after you lift your finger, and pinch zoom remains available. Crosshair also works while frozen and is independent of Guides, Bright and Rulers. The cursor always stays crosshair, even when the lines are off. The setting is saved for the current tool. Reset turns it off. Default: off. A tooltip follows the crosshair and stays within the plot. Spectroscope shows frequency, cursor decibels and the displayed bar level. Level shows the channel, cursor dBFS and displayed level. Oscilloscope shows time, signed cursor amplitude and the sample value. Wavescope shows time before the newest sample, channel, cursor amplitude and the displayed minimum-to-maximum range. Phasescope shows cursor Mid/Side and corresponding L/R amplitudes, plus the signal's overall correlation. FS is normalized full-scale amplitude. Cursor values describe the pointer position, not the measured signal. Signal readouts use displayed data and remain held during Freeze. A dash means no sample is available, while zero amplitude is shown as -∞ dBFS. The tooltip is not included in bitmap exports.

Phasescope button

Shows the stereo signal as a phase trace. Matching left and right signals form a vertical line. Opposite-polarity signals form a horizontal line. A wider trace indicates more stereo difference. Left-only and right-only signals follow the corresponding diagonal axes. Mono uses the same signal on both sides. The correlation reading appears above the trace. Its scale below the trace ranges from -1 for opposite polarity through 0 for unrelated signals to +1 for matching signals. Three cursors show the current value and the minimum and maximum over the last second of live updates. Color affects only the phase trace. A dash means correlation is undefined because one or both channels are silent, which also clears the cursors and their range. Guides shows the phase axes and the correlation scale, ticks and labels. Rulers shows the normalized mid and side amplitude scales. The correlation readout and cursors are independent of both toggles. The horizontal side signal is (R - L) / 2, and the vertical mid signal is (L + R) / 2. Freeze holds the trace, correlation and all three cursors without stopping audio. The selected Meters view is saved for the current tool.

Meter rulers button

The Rulers button in Meters shows or hides scales independently of Guides. Spectroscope shows frequency and decibel rulers. Level shows a decibel ruler, including -3 dB where space permits, and channel labels, L and R for left and right or M for mono. Crowded Level references are omitted together with their ticks and guides. Oscilloscope shows milliseconds across its sample window. Wavescope shows seconds back from the newest captured signal at 0 s, excluding silence and paused updates. Both show decibel rulers, with channel labels for stereo Wavescope. Phasescope shows normalized mid and side amplitude scales. Its bottom correlation meter is independent of Rulers. Bright changes both guide and ruler contrast. The local Rulers button overrides the Settings Rulers option for Meters only. Default: on.

Meter bitmap button

Save bitmap downloads the current Meters plot as a PNG. Copy bitmap copies the same image to the clipboard in supported browsers. The image includes the displayed trace, guides and readouts, but not the outer rulers, crosshair overlay or controls. With Guides and Bright on, the image has a complete bright outline even when Rulers is on. Freeze first to capture a held frame. Saving and copying do not change the selected view, Freeze or audio playback.

Speech button

Speaks current Panel text. Press again to stop.

Download button

Downloads current Panel text as a text file.

Elements

The following is a description of the basic elements that make up the tools. For per-tool details see individual Help pages. Tooltips are provided on hover for buttons and labels.

Button

Buttons can be command or toggle. Toggle buttons indicate whether they are on. Unavailable buttons are disabled. Settings lets you choose text or icon buttons where supported. Some buttons support hold.

Label

Displayed to the left of fields and menus. Click gives focus to corresponding field or menu.

Value field

Can be input, output or both. Decimal precision varies by field. Background bars can be toggled from Settings.

Slider

Sets value in integers. Rounds to nearest integer when corresponding field has decimals. Decrease and Increase buttons support hold. Supports keyboard input of arrow up, arrow down, page up, page down, home and end.

Radio button

Exclusive selection. For instance note value in table in BPM Calculator.

Knob

Drag vertically or use the mouse wheel to adjust the value. Double-click restores the default.

Settings

Global customization is available from the Settings button in the top heading. Preferences are saved automatically and apply across Pekosoft.

Dark mode option

Switches the site color mode.

Fullscreen button

Enters or exits browser fullscreen.

Play button

Cycles through pages automatically.

Status bar option

Toggles the bottom status bar. While on, hovering, focusing or long-pressing any control shows its help and feedback there. Ctrl+click a control, or click its icon in the status bar, opens that control's Help entry directly.

Grid option

Toggles the background grid.

Guides option

Toggles guides across supported tools and modules. A module-local Guides button overrides this setting for its own module only. The Settings Guides button remains active while at least one guide is on. Default: on.

Bright option

Increases guide contrast across supported Timeline and Meters modules. A module-local Bright button overrides this setting for its own module only. Default: off.

Headers option

Shows or hides module headers.

Footers option

Shows or hides module footers.

Layout option

Toggles the two-module layout where supported.

Haptic option

Enables haptic feedback where supported.

Text option

Uses rectangular buttons with text instead of square icon buttons where supported.

Alpha option

Applies transparency to selected interface surfaces. Sticky table headers remain opaque so scrolling rows cannot show through. Timeline rulers have no separate opaque background.

Multicolor option

Toggles multicolor rendering across Meters. A module-local Color button overrides this setting for its own Meters module. Default: on.

Bars option

Toggles number-field background bars.

Wrap option

Toggles panel text wrapping across releases with Panel modules.

Size knob

Sets the background-grid size.

Font menu

Sets the default font size.

BPM field

Sets the default beats per minute and updates supported open tools.

RPM field

Shows the default RPM (revolutions per minute), adjusted with the RPM knob, and updates supported open tools.

A4 Hz field

Sets the default frequency for A4 and updates supported open tools.

SOS field

Sets SOS (speed of sound) in meters per second and updates supported open tools.

Reset button

Restores global customization to factory defaults and clears the site's locally stored tool settings and data.

Notes

Find even more important information below.

Decimals

Most values are displayed with three decimals. Some, like the average BPM on Tap Pad, are rounded to whole numbers. Values that benefit from greater precision include amplitude in Audio Calculator, where an entry such as 2.54321% is used without rounding it to three decimals.
